HVC - Interval Control Valve
Remotely Control Flow Into or Out of an Isolated Reservoir - Without Intervention
WellDynamics’ HVC interval control valve (HVC-ICV) is a remotely-operated downhole valve used in conjunction with WellDynamics' Accu-Pulse™ positioning module to control flow into or out of an isolated reservoir interval. Designed for use in areas where selective control over production or injection is required, the HVC-ICV has a variable flow capability with a customizable flow trim for specific choking applications. This flow trim option enables the calculation of accurate flow estimation and allocation (FE&A), and provides a high level of well control for a range of applications.
The HVC-ICV can also be deployed in conjunction with non-integrated permanent downhole gauges (PDGs) for pressure and temperature measurements.
The HVC-ICV operates effectively in a range of applications, such as:
- High pressure/high temperature (HPHT) environments
- Auto gaslift
- Waterflood
- Commingled flow
Benefits
- Remotely control flow into or out of an isolated reservoir without physical intervention
- Eliminate need for hydraulic pressure to be maintained using the HVC-ICV locking mechanism
- Alter flow characteristics of each zone using HVC model
Features
- Robust metal-to-metal closure seal that provides high unloading differential
- Seal locking mechanism that eliminates requirement for hydraulic pressure to be maintained
- Boost piston mechanism that tightens closure seal as differential pressures are applied
- Customized flow trim to fit a wide range of choking applications
- Inert thermoplastic actuator seals
- Mechanical override facility
- Shrouded version available for stacked zone applications
